Strides for Strokes

 7th Annual Walk Run Wheel

 John Lawson Park

 West Vancouver BC

 10 am Saturday June 9, 2012 

 Walk information

We are raising funds to continue providing speech, exercise and music therapies as well as other supportive programs to North Shore stroke survivors

The walk will begin at the playground in John Lawson Park and is wheelchair accessible. Families and friends are invited to join us as we cheer on our stroke survivors.

The walk route is 2 to 4 km in length – depending on whether the walker completes the full or half course route.

 How you can help

 We encourage all participants to get pledge support from families and friends.

 Participants collecting $50 or more in pledges will be entered in a prize draw.

 Charitable donation receipts will be issued for donations of $30 or more

 Cheques should be made payable to “NSSRC”

NSSRC is the main service provider of stroke recovery and community integration services for post outpatient individuals living with stroke.

Over 60% of our operating budget is derived from fundraising efforts.

Annual General Meeting

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2012 is our Annual General Meeting

BC Stroke Strategy Rehabilitation & Reintegration

Principal Investigator, Dr. Tal Jarus, and her research team from the Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy at the University of British Columbia, and the Stroke Recovery Association of British Columbia are teaming up to investigate the effects of participation in a Stroke Recovery Program on community reintegration and life satisfaction for stroke survivors and caregivers.

Stroke survivors and their caregivers living within the North Shore Community are being invited to take part in this innovative research study. An honorarium will be provided.
