Our program has developed over the past 35 years. At present we offer speech maintenance, an exercise program, music therapy and computer based speech training. There are a range of other social, recreational and educational activities. Blood pressure can be checked on request and beverages will be provided throughout the day. Members are asked to bring their own lunches. Guest speakers visit throughout the year and speak on various topics of interest.
We recognize that this is a very difficult time for you and those near you. We hope to provide support in both you and your relatives during the recovery process. We have a Caregiver Support Group for those interested that meets monthly at our West Vancouver location on the last Monday of the month from 12:30 - 2:00pm. Please contact us if you would like further information.
We provide resources to our Members, Caregivers and other professionals, majority of the materials are generously provided by the Heart & Stroke Foundation, a public education organization. We act as a direct service provider to stroke survivors and their families and act to advocate for our Members. The Centre is run under the premises of a peer support group and is staffed by four Coordinator, nine therapists and a wonderful crew of fifteen volunteers. We operate four days per week, during the hours of 10:00 am and 2:00 pm.
Members come together for friendship and information and to work towards their recovery from stroke. If transportation needs to be arranged, we try out best to accommodate the request through HandyDART bus services. Please do not hesitate to contact us for further information, 778 - 340 - 5803.
It is every Members responsibility to help with the following:
