Survivor Services

The North Shore Stroke Recovery Centre’s primary focus is supporting stroke survivors in their recovery through improving quality of life and building up self confidence and independence.

The Centre runs Monday in West Vancouver and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in North Vancouver and includes activity programming, speech, art and music therapies for groups and individuals plus an exercise component, social interaction and a Caregiver Support Group once per month. An Outreach volunteer is available to visit stroke survivors in hospital offering support and providing information regarding our services.

Because stroke impacts people at different stages in their lives and to differing degrees we have also created two separate stroke survivor programs: an Older Adult Stroke Survivor Program (O.A.S.S.) and a Young Stroke Survivor Program (Y.S.S.).
