Soraya Verjee
Board Member
Originally from the North Shore, Soraya has spent over 20 years working with non-profits and social impact organizations in West Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Caribbean. Now back home, she works as a consultant, focusing on local social development projects. Soraya holds a BA in Political Science from McGill University and an MA in Environment and Development from King’s College London.
Inspired by her mother, a strong stroke survivor since 2009, Soraya deeply values the resources, support, and encouragement provided by the NSSRC. Her goal in joining the Board is to ensure that all stroke survivors and their families on the North Shore receive the same support that has benefited her mother.
In her free time, Soraya enjoys baking with her son and spending as much time by the ocean as possible.
